Applications are now open for stallholders and volunteers to get involved in We Care Day Saturday 10 October 2015 from 10am – 4pm at Brelsford Park in Coffs Harbour.
In its third year, We Care Day is an event for all of the community to come together and celebrate our diversity – a day for all ages, abilities and cultures. Food and market stalls are such an important part of the day, showcasing local artisans and providing a variety of cuisines for those in attendance to sample.
The day will kick off with a Wheelchair Sports basketball competition involving local dignitaries and sports people living with a disability. Festival goers will then be entertained by local community groups performing on the main stage as well as enjoy a headline performance by Ebb n Flo.
The C.ex children’s zone will feature a jumping castle, petting zoo, mechanical bull and surfboard rides as well as face painting. Coffs Coast Health Club returns to run the Health & Wellbeing zone and will offer massage, exercise instruction and nutritional advice. In addition the connectABLE cinema will feature films of local people who through connection to clubs and groups have enriched their lives and the lives of other club members.
Ash Johnson will return to host the Arts Hub, Wheelchair Sports will host all day “come & try” sporting activities and the cultural hub will this year include representatives of the African, Indian and Garlarmbirla Aboriginal peoples.
Local aged care, health and disability service providers will be encouraged to join the day by booking a space in the information hub to promote how they are helping people on the Coffs Coast remain within the community and lead fulfilling lives.
