Support at Home is a government-funded program that provides you with coordinated support in your own home. It enables you to tailor the supports you receive and gives you choice and flexibility over how your care is provided.
There are eight levels of support available ranging from Level 1 (low level support) to Level 8 (high level support).
We work with you to help identify how we maximise your Support at Home Program Coffs Harbour so that your services add value to your life and increase your independence and connection to your community.
To access services through the Support at Home program, you will need to start by contacting My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or by clicking here and completing the online application form.
A member of an assessment organisation will meet with you to complete an assessment of your current needs and determine what level of support will best suit your individual circumstances.
Services Australia uses income and asset details to work out how much you will need to contribute to your Support at Home costs.
You will receive a letter from My Aged Care following the assessment confirming what level of Support at Home funding you have been approved to receive and approximately when you can anticipate your Support at Home funding commencing. If you have been approved for interim support whilst you wait for your Support at Home funding (such as Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) service), this will be indicated in My Aged Care’s letter to you.
You can choose who provides your Support at Home program services. It is important to compare service providers and ensure you are making an informed decision.
If you have decided we are the right provider for you (or you are considering your options), please contact us. We will ask you about the Support at Home funding you are approved for and some basic questions to help us understand the types of support you wish to receive.
If you think we could be the right provider for you, please contact us.
Alternatively you can fill out our enquiry form and we will contact you.
If you have any questions about choosing a provider or about our service difference, please contact us so we can talk through your questions.
No two people are the same, and no two care plans are either. With Support at Home Coffs Harbour, you might receive help with:
• Everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking, or shopping
• Personal care such as showering or dressing
• Getting to appointments or activities
• Staying socially connected or active in the community
• Support with medications or health needs
It’s all about what makes your day-to-day life easier, safer, and more enjoyable — while keeping you in control of your own choices.
Under the Support at Home program, you are required to make a financial contribution towards your care which is determined through a means test. The means test is completed by Services Australia who assesses your income and assets to calculate how much you’ll need to contribute towards your care. Co-contribution rates vary depending on your financial situation and the types of services you receive. Importantly, aged care service providers set their own prices for services. This means that prices can differ significantly between providers, making it important to take time to compare service offerings and costs before choosing your provider. By reviewing published rates and service agreements, you can ensure that your care plan aligns with both your needs and your budget.
We are committed to maintaining affordable pricing to ensure you receive high quality support without undue financial burden. As a local, not-for-profit organisation, our primary motivation is service – not profit. By operating efficiently and prioritising value, we strive to make essential services accessible to those who need them most. Our pricing structure reflects our dedication to fairness, transparency, and the wellbeing of the individuals and families we serve. You can view our pricing here: Support at Home Price Guide
